Not Apathetic

Tell the world why you're not voting - don't let your silence go unheard

They're not voting because...

I *am* going to vote, but... Politics...

I *am* going to vote, but...

Politics in this country truly depress me. I'm a History and Politics student at University, and it just sickens me how the ideology, the commitment, the verve, the *passion* has just been sucked out of the three main parties. None of those parties have the guts to stand up against the baser instincts of the electorate.

For example: I am sick to death of the fact that most social policy in this country is determined by such rags as the Daily Mail. Why don't one of the three party leaders stand up to the seemingly growing tide against Asylum Seekers (for this, read "foreigners") and say NO! to this passive racism?

I don't regard any of the Party leaders very highly - especially Messrs. Blair and Howard.

So, am going to vote Lib Dem on May 5th, but don't interpret this as an endorsement of this country's electoral system, or its decaying parties.

About Not Apathetic

NotApathetic was built so that people who are planning not to vote in the UK General Election on May 5th can tell the world why. We won't try to persuade you that voting is a good or a bad idea - we're just here to record and share your explanations. Whether ideological, practical or other, any reason will do.

A lot of users would like us to mention that if you spoil your ballot paper, it will be counted. So if you want to record a vote for "none of the above", you can.
