They're not voting because...
- spoil you ballot paper instead...
why not spoil you ballot paper instead??? they ALL have to be counted and accounted for. if you are prepared to walk through hyde park or wherever for a coiuple of miles, please walk 200 yards down the road an write acroos your paper somehting like "ballot paper spoilt in protest at the candidates". that way you ARE actually voting. you are voting against the list of people drawn up in that constitiuency. Not voting means your voice is not used. Spoiling your paper is the equivalent of standing up and booing whoever is speaking. one boo may not be heard, but if even 10% of registered voters all boo the polititicians at the same time, our collective voices will be heard, their ears will start to open.

David replies: Better still when spoiling your vote write in against each candidate why you cannot support them - but be a bit ambiguous. If the result is close or there is a danger of a lost deposit, the party agents will all scrutinise the spolit votes to see if they can argue that it is actually indicating support for them. So they will, while highly stressed have to read:
* never again, too xenophobic, can't be trusted (e.g. poll tax, miners, run down of manufacturing). Thatcherite retreads.

* see above, but more so.
* deceitful leader, lied on tax, lied on tuition fees, still lying about Iraq, what else are they lying about? Messed with the election system.
* who? - I only hear from them at election time, lots of waste paper saying that they will legalise various crimes. -
