Not Apathetic

Tell the world why you're not voting - don't let your silence go unheard

They're not voting because...

A single vote makes no difference to...

A single vote makes no difference to the overall outcome, or to the outcome in my local constituency. I have heard constantly the retort "well, if everyone thought like that..., etc" - but whether or not I choose to vote will have no bearing on whether any other person chooses to. I do not try to persuade other people not to vote, they should do as they please but I shall not be voting as there is no point, my vote will not make a difference.

Jeffrey replies: well, you could band together with some of your mates and vote together. yeah, 1 vote out of the thousands in your constituency is really pathetically small. but say 20 votes out of .... yeah alright you don't have a voice.

piersh replies: It might do if you post your intentions on a Website :-). But seriously, unless your is a safe seat you can't say this for sure. Some seats at least in every election are only won by a handful of votes...

About Not Apathetic

NotApathetic was built so that people who are planning not to vote in the UK General Election on May 5th can tell the world why. We won't try to persuade you that voting is a good or a bad idea - we're just here to record and share your explanations. Whether ideological, practical or other, any reason will do.

A lot of users would like us to mention that if you spoil your ballot paper, it will be counted. So if you want to record a vote for "none of the above", you can.
