No single mainstream party (the only ones who could do anything about the problem) has mentioned, let alone promised to do something about, the 2 most important inter-related issues ever to face mankind; namely Peak Oil and the environment.
Mind you, that fact that the human race will be extinct within 50 years at present rates of oil consumption and emissions is almost something of a relief; it was we who elected our "leaders"; it was we who allowed "democracy" to be perverted by corporate greed; therefore it is we who deserve to reap the rewards of the greedy and corrupt self-serving society in which we live. :oD
