Because the elections serve no purpose - whoever gets into power, the same businesses and names start lobbying, the civil service starts interfering, and we get left with a pitiful farce of a government who only listen to businesses and the civil service and utterly ignore the needs, and, far more importantly, ignore the will, of the British Public
