Not Apathetic

Tell the world why you're not voting - don't let your silence go unheard

They're not voting because...

None of the main parties are worth voting...

None of the main parties are worth voting for. All local independant near me are either single issue campaigners or extremists.
Why can we not have an extra box on all ballots for "None of the above". This will show how the people of this democratic country feel about the people who want to lead us. Spoiling the paper is another option, but the spoiled papers can be dismissed as "accidents" or "voter error", an active vote for none of the people listed would be better.
The majority of people who seek power do so because they like the power, not because they can change things for the better. Some say that power corrupts, I say that power attracts the corruptable.

Gavin replies: If being a politician is the only realistic way to make any difference to the status quo, surely there must be MPs who are in it for reasons other than a desire for power (though surely they do not actually have that much power, unless they are right at the top)?

About Not Apathetic

NotApathetic was built so that people who are planning not to vote in the UK General Election on May 5th can tell the world why. We won't try to persuade you that voting is a good or a bad idea - we're just here to record and share your explanations. Whether ideological, practical or other, any reason will do.

A lot of users would like us to mention that if you spoil your ballot paper, it will be counted. So if you want to record a vote for "none of the above", you can.
