Not Apathetic

Tell the world why you're not voting - don't let your silence go unheard

They're not voting because...

It looks like a fair few of you are ...

It looks like a fair few of you are not voting because you're disillusioned with the Big Three. I just wanted to ask of those of you: if you CAN vote and you are NOT starting your own party, please vote Green if you have the option. It won't count for Bliar, and it could just make a difference for everybody else.

Jeffrey replies: but whats the point if Greens get 10% of the vote if one of the big three gets to be MP anyway? Under First Past the Post system, I may as well not wasted the hour it would take me to register a vote that would be useless to all but the most ardent statiticians.

Gavin replies: There would also be the risk that the Greens would actually get in. Their cause may be a noble one, but there's a bit more to real life than tree hugging. One-issue parties (well, a group of issues, but still based around the same thing) cannot be a good idea.

About Not Apathetic

NotApathetic was built so that people who are planning not to vote in the UK General Election on May 5th can tell the world why. We won't try to persuade you that voting is a good or a bad idea - we're just here to record and share your explanations. Whether ideological, practical or other, any reason will do.

A lot of users would like us to mention that if you spoil your ballot paper, it will be counted. So if you want to record a vote for "none of the above", you can.
