Not Apathetic

Tell the world why you're not voting - don't let your silence go unheard

They're not voting because...

I'm not naiive enough to believe that...

I'm not naiive enough to believe that my vote is going to count for anything, but I still feel its necessary to do my bit. If we all sat back like some of you guys and said "I can't be bothered" or "I don't agree with the system". If we all said that then one day someone like Tony Blair could just pay his mates to vote, get in and never leave. Then you'd all complain at his dictatorship, and it would be your fault because you didn't exercise the privilege when you had it. We take too much for granted in this country, and noone will be arsed to vote until the day we can't vote anymore. It's a poor excuse for democracy but at least we have it. Apathetic I think describes it quite well.

About Not Apathetic

NotApathetic was built so that people who are planning not to vote in the UK General Election on May 5th can tell the world why. We won't try to persuade you that voting is a good or a bad idea - we're just here to record and share your explanations. Whether ideological, practical or other, any reason will do.

A lot of users would like us to mention that if you spoil your ballot paper, it will be counted. So if you want to record a vote for "none of the above", you can.
