Tell the world why you're not voting - don't let your silence go unheard

Because foolishly I believed that paying council tax would entitle me to a vote, but apparently one has to register separately & by the time the election was called it was too late to register. However I would have voted either lib dem or green & it would have made no difference as Diane Abbott has a 15000 majority in my constituency ( tho as labour mps go, she´s pretty decent. but would like to know if she´s ever planning on doing anything about the disaster which is clissold leisure centre ). But really what I want is proportional representation so I can vote green and make it count.

Max replies: Proportional representation will only give the Greens a minority vote, so how much difference will that make? I heard a Green candidate state a few years ago that they don't want to gain a majority in parliament, just enough to sway the vote. In other words, they don't want to take on the responsibility that goes with government.

About Not Apathetic

NotApathetic was built so that people who are planning not to vote in the UK General Election on May 5th can tell the world why. We won't try to persuade you that voting is a good or a bad idea - we're just here to record and share your explanations. Whether ideological, practical or other, any reason will do.

A lot of users would like us to mention that if you spoil your ballot paper, it will be counted. So if you want to record a vote for "none of the above", you can.
