Not Apathetic

Tell the world why you're not voting - don't let your silence go unheard

They're not voting because...

...I'm in China - along with the rest...

...I'm in China - along with the rest of the UK manufacturing industry. Now why doesn't someone do something about that?

cinsky replies: I'm sure the UK manufacturing industry wasn't dragged to China like West Indian slaves to Europe in days of yor. The UK manufacturing industry is in China because it is more efficient, cheaper and BETTER than the UK.

Why, pray tell, should government be obliged to interfer?

Screaming Lord Sutch replies: This is the price you pay for living in a developed country. We are no longer an agricultural economy. The manufacturing industry in the UK is also in decline because we are moving from a manufacturing economy to a tertiary economy.

It's the natural step for us to evolve and progress. It shows we are not stagnant!

Boojam replies: I'm not an anti-globaliser myself, but anti-globalisation (including the ability of countries to protect their industries) was a very much talked about political issue a few years ago. At the time one got the impression that mainstream politicians/media and genera public weren't much interested in the topic.

About Not Apathetic

NotApathetic was built so that people who are planning not to vote in the UK General Election on May 5th can tell the world why. We won't try to persuade you that voting is a good or a bad idea - we're just here to record and share your explanations. Whether ideological, practical or other, any reason will do.

A lot of users would like us to mention that if you spoil your ballot paper, it will be counted. So if you want to record a vote for "none of the above", you can.
