If I voted for one of these gangs of thugs, they might think I supported them. The Lib Dems need to wake up and smell the manure in Europe; the Tories need to ditch that leader and elect a living human being with an actual soul; and Labour need to rediscover the idea of integrity, even though it would mean losing about 40 IQ points. Ho hum.

Unpredictable replies: Very nicely put; although in my humble opinion your comment on the Tories doesn't carry the same weight as the other two and could perhaps do with a little explanation.

Anonymous replies: Well, Howard has - entirely predictably, given his record - led the Tories firmly and deliberately into the lowest, nastiest part of their ground, where they are defined by what they are against rather than what they are for. They are against immigrants, against Europe, against socialism, against public spending. They're not "for" anything, except "family values" and "efficiency in public services" (or "motherhood and apple pie", as they're more generally known). In other words, their sole interest is in power for its own sake - there is no positive agenda.
