- Scenario 1 - sit 8 monkeys...
Scenario 1 - sit 8 monkeys around a table with 3 big buttons in front of them that represent choices. Let them bash the buttons at random
Scenario 2 - sit dozens of overpaid wankers in a room and let them waste my money talking about it for hours, while thinking how next to line their pockets or get that move to Euroland.
Compare results of Scenarios 1 and 2 - results would probably be the same.

After all, the monkies wouldn't be motivated by personal agendas (unless there's some sort of banana-dispensing cartel involved), and so sheer fluke will give us a good, altruistic decision 1/3 rd of the time.
