Not Apathetic

Tell the world why you're not voting - don't let your silence go unheard

They're not voting because...

Democracy not representative

The idea that UK democracy gives representation to the electorate is surely the biggest con in town.

Historically, political power has been held by the ruling classes, the situation is not too different today; the people may be different but the same concept remains.

Of course, it is frustrating to be governed by idiots who decieve and ignore international law, but it is not new. Democracy has not changed this, it has just changed the perception of the plebs, sorry, voters.

So I'm not voting. Instead, I'll watch the campaigns, be entertained, take an interest and end up sickened by the whole charade.

. replies: yes it is the biggest con in town! but how many people moan about the main parties not representing their views....and then go out and vote for them anyway! can nobody see beyond the propoganda which is served up in the media, there are other parties out for them and send a shudder through the establishment!

Tiger43 replies: To the poster......You forgot one thing about the ruling classes. They all interbreed, which as we all know is the reason why the majority of them look and sound so strange, allmost sub human. The fact we are being lead by lanky, goofy toothed sub morons worries me slightly to say the least.

About Not Apathetic

NotApathetic was built so that people who are planning not to vote in the UK General Election on May 5th can tell the world why. We won't try to persuade you that voting is a good or a bad idea - we're just here to record and share your explanations. Whether ideological, practical or other, any reason will do.

A lot of users would like us to mention that if you spoil your ballot paper, it will be counted. So if you want to record a vote for "none of the above", you can.
