..Why should I trespass on a sport which is designed to limit my participation to that of a spectator ?Democracy works if it allows the poloi some say in the major decisions.I am not privately -educated or a member of the meeja and thus not part of the "political class". My opinions are deliberately not represented or addresed.Why validate this condescending process?

Dr. Mabuse replies: In a parliamentary democracy, it seems the only way to effect genuine change is to become a lobbyist - in that respect, websites such as this one are a positive development. The voting process is there (it would seem) merely to generate churn amongst the professional political classes - which can only be a good thing, however pessimistic your view of the system. Systems that don't have any means of generating churn end up like N. Korea.
