Not Apathetic

Tell the world why you're not voting - don't let your silence go unheard

They're not voting because...

I can't vote because I am not registered...

I can't vote because I am not registered. We were stressfully moving house and although told that we were registered at our previous address, we were later told that we had been wiped from the register. I feel very unhappy and frustrated about this and angry (at myself) that I have lost the chance to have a voice, to take part in something that is my right. When I consider all the people around the world who can't vote, or don't get their vote counted, or get forced into voting a particular way - I know I have in some way let them down as well as myself and all the people throughout history who fought for a democratic voting system. I will make sure I am registered for every election to come and I will try to be as informed as I can - not take this right for granted.

Matt B replies: no probs. chat to a mate who doesn't want to vote and go in as them. the checks are ludicrous - just remeber their name and address. your vote can count too.

About Not Apathetic

NotApathetic was built so that people who are planning not to vote in the UK General Election on May 5th can tell the world why. We won't try to persuade you that voting is a good or a bad idea - we're just here to record and share your explanations. Whether ideological, practical or other, any reason will do.

A lot of users would like us to mention that if you spoil your ballot paper, it will be counted. So if you want to record a vote for "none of the above", you can.
