Not Apathetic

Tell the world why you're not voting - don't let your silence go unheard

They're not voting because...

The three major parties have very little...

The three major parties have very little in the way of ideological differences. All support neo-liberal economic policies so the range of debate is very limited. The parties which are closest to what I believe in (Respect, Greens) don't have any chance due to the unfair first past the post system which means that power never really changes hands. The same buisnesses buy the ears of all the big three parties, so nothing will fundementally change whoever gets in. And most people are unwilling to vore for small parties because they think they wont get in, increasing the difficulties they face. (I am actually going to vote for Respect, but I'm just making the point that voting under the present system doesnt really change anything.)

About Not Apathetic

NotApathetic was built so that people who are planning not to vote in the UK General Election on May 5th can tell the world why. We won't try to persuade you that voting is a good or a bad idea - we're just here to record and share your explanations. Whether ideological, practical or other, any reason will do.

A lot of users would like us to mention that if you spoil your ballot paper, it will be counted. So if you want to record a vote for "none of the above", you can.
