Not Apathetic

Tell the world why you're not voting - don't let your silence go unheard

They're not voting because...

I just don't trust what they're telling...

I just don't trust what they're telling me in their manifestos. It always seems to me that all they do is point to what they will do that will make us happy, so we vote for them, but never tell us how they're going to do it. I don't trust labour because of the whole Iraq episode, but actually trust the Conservatives even LESS... they just don't LOOK honest! Conservatives have a highly patronising way to them that really puts me off, I don't think there is any place in society these days for their attitude. Lib Dems look most honest to me, but unfortunately I don't like the policies they're (possibly) being honest about!
I would love to be interested in politics, but it's the politicians who put me off it, they need to get a grasp on reality and understand the issues we deal with. There has to be far more business people entering into politics, as they know the issues that need to be dealt with.

About Not Apathetic

NotApathetic was built so that people who are planning not to vote in the UK General Election on May 5th can tell the world why. We won't try to persuade you that voting is a good or a bad idea - we're just here to record and share your explanations. Whether ideological, practical or other, any reason will do.

A lot of users would like us to mention that if you spoil your ballot paper, it will be counted. So if you want to record a vote for "none of the above", you can.
