They're not voting because...
- I'll be out of the country and voting...
I'll be out of the country and voting by proxy is quite a hassle.written 14th Apr 2005
Jimmy Nutmeg replies: bollox. i'm out of the country and i filled in one form and sent it to my old local authority. total time to be registered as an absent voter=15mins.written 14th Apr 2005
SW replies: You obviously didn't need to learn to read and write first Jimmy :o>written 14th Apr 2005
Vince replies: I also need to get the form signed by employer, but ok, it won't take that much effort... it's just more effort than seems worthwhile in a constituency where tories always win by a large margin regardless.written 14th Apr 2005
Jimmy Nutmeg replies: why does your employer need to sign? that seems strange to me. if you have a problem with the electoral system, you should vote libdem, who want to change it. if enough people agree with you and also vote libdem, it might happen.written 14th Apr 2005
Vince replies: As it happens, my vote would be for lib dem.
I think you're talking about the procedure for people living out of the country, I'm talking about voting whilst I'm on holiday.
Earlier, I even called the number to get the form I have to fill out to register to vote by proxy, but I was put in a queue.written 14th Apr 2005
NK replies: Jimmy, Lib Dem only want to change it because they can't win under FPTP and that's quite transparent to anyone with half a clue. I can't remember what they want to change it to, probably to a PR (proportional representation) system eh? where they would benefit so much more from tactical voting and alike.written 17th Apr 2005
