Not Apathetic

Tell the world why you're not voting - don't let your silence go unheard

They're not voting because...

I'd like to see more referendums on ...

I'd like to see more referendums on important issues.
Rather than electing a party who then do what the hell they want once in power.

I'd also like to see performance related pay for politicians - again based on some sort of feedback from their constituency on the promises they made at election time....

When I go to work each day, I can't simply do what I want then ignore everything my says.. i would get sacked.

NF replies: A ready solution to the problem of governments 'doing what the hell they like' once in power would be to allow a petition of a certain size to trigger a general election. The number would have to be huge, maybe a couple of million signatures or so, to prevent it being abused frivilously, but that would have stopped the Iraq war dead.

About Not Apathetic

NotApathetic was built so that people who are planning not to vote in the UK General Election on May 5th can tell the world why. We won't try to persuade you that voting is a good or a bad idea - we're just here to record and share your explanations. Whether ideological, practical or other, any reason will do.

A lot of users would like us to mention that if you spoil your ballot paper, it will be counted. So if you want to record a vote for "none of the above", you can.
