Although I would vote for the party that taxed you more the poorer you were....and paid zero dole money.
Why? well it would encourage them to work harder and make them pay for their cost to society, let's face it the majority of chavs running riot are from poor backgrounds and cause more damage, crime, violence, cost more in policing than people from families that are hard working and discipline their kids at home.written 12th Apr 2005
Bri replies: Hmmm that is quite a radical train of thought. Good idea though. A Chav/Burberry Tax would be a good idea too. The more Burberry you wear the higher the tax.written 12th Apr 2005
Ben replies: Good idea, drive the poor further into debt and make them more likely to become antisocial. Your average Briton, when faced with increasing taxes, would not say "Oh, I guess I'd better work harder then." They would become more depressed, get drunk and violent more, blah blah blah.written 12th Apr 2005
I hope your idea is a joke.
Bri replies: Lighten up Ben, just trying to bring a little humour into anotherwise very serious website. A VERY GOOD website nonetheless.written 12th Apr 2005
original poster... replies: it was tongue in cheek -
but it is true that in social terms the poorer sections of society are a greater burden...
Fair enough in economic terms,
but the social behaviour and cost to society should not be ignored.
I've worked bloody hard to get my family a decent standard of living and really resent having to see taxpayers money being thrown down the drain to clean up the damage / cost of those that just don't give a flying f_ _k about other people or society as a whole.written 12th Apr 2005

eashsae replies: HELL YEAH!!! My parents are not rich, but have worked hard to pay for me to go to Uni, so that I can better myself, and be a useful member of societywritten 14th Apr 2005
Shaznay Jamil replies: LMAO!! FAKE burberry tax yeh? Completely and utterly agree! Enough is enough, something drastically has to change and if this means we have to go through a trial of this sort of tax then so be it!!! May even get those lazy 'Keith Millers' off their backsides and into work! Oh & teach their kids some manners!written 15th Apr 2005
