They're not voting because...
- ... whomever you...
... whomever you vote for the government wins. Sting was right, politicians all look like quiz show hosts to me, just with less sincerity.
I want to be left alone. My deal with the government is that I won't bother them and they shouldn't bother me. No begging letters from the Inland Revenue for taxes, no begging me for votes. The belief that everything is political is totalitarian. To be anti-politics and anti-politicians is to be in favour of living your own life by your own values.
I want to opt out of state control, I am not a number, I do not want to be identified, I am not a subject, I am a free man.
People wonder why slaves of old did not run away from their masters, I wonder why people cooperate with their political masters today. No government is a way of life.
Non-violent civil disobediance gave a billion Indians independence. Not voting is a minimal form of civil disobediance. By voting you tacitly accept the legitimacy of the rule of politicians over you.
Don't do it.

Guido Fawkes replies: No a private for profit company does - but money is wasted on bureaucrats paid by me to pay them.
I don't pay bureaucrats to shop for my food or clean my windows, why should I pay them to find someone to empty to my bins?
