Not Apathetic

Tell the world why you're not voting - don't let your silence go unheard

They're not voting because...

I can't trust any of the politicians...

I can't trust any of the politicians or political parties. They nearly all lie or sell out any personal beliefs to tow the part line ...even if they disagree with it.

I don't agree with the first past the post system in this country.

There is a None Of The Above option included on the voting form.

I do not agree with having no option about being on an electoral register only to then have the option of not voting.

There are not enough women/ethic minority candidates.

It costs a potential candidate a lot of money to stand for parliament and thus denies a real voice, a real choice. The current situation only allows the wealthy or sponsored to be a representative of the people.

MPS do not listen to the public ... if they had we wouldn't have gone into an illegal war in Iraq.

MPs do not do enough in their constituencies when elected, and they're too 'busy' with outside business interests when they are elected.

About Not Apathetic

NotApathetic was built so that people who are planning not to vote in the UK General Election on May 5th can tell the world why. We won't try to persuade you that voting is a good or a bad idea - we're just here to record and share your explanations. Whether ideological, practical or other, any reason will do.

A lot of users would like us to mention that if you spoil your ballot paper, it will be counted. So if you want to record a vote for "none of the above", you can.
