They're not voting because...
- Today's politicians lack moral authority
Today's politicians simply lack the moral authority to govern us. They are unable or unwilling to accept responsibility for their actions, and yet they expect the people to let them do whatever they want. I think the whole voting system should be scrapped, and MPs should be chosen simply by selecting people at random from the population, the same way juries are chosen, with MPs serving for a fixed term of 3 years. The problem with democracy is career politician - the answer, get rid of politics as a career, and restore it to being a public duty.

Jeffrey replies: It would be better to have a maximum term of office, say 10 years. If an MP hasn't done what they wanted in 10 yeras then they are not likely to in the next 10 years. The career politician is the most likely and most skilled at dogde and spin.

Of course, if you 'randomly' select the MP's then the chances are you'd get some dim whit with delusions of grandure and hell bent on world domination.
I vote for revolution, its always the best way to invoke real change in a political system
