Not Apathetic

Tell the world why you're not voting - don't let your silence go unheard

They're not voting because...

I didn't vote because my parents registered...

I didn't vote because my parents registered me to vote in my home town, where I don't live and have no means of travelling there as I am studying at university 6 hours drive from where my parents live.

Paul replies: Postal vote? Proxy?

Steve replies: I don't know how proxy voting works and the only time I heard anything about postal voting was in the media when people were complaining it was corruptable. If I had been more interested then maybe I would have made the effort to find out about such things, but there are things I dislike about all the top three parties and why put myself out for policies I dislike?

Tiger43 replies: Then you must register where you are now for the next election. Alternatively, you could give up your studies completely and move back to your home town and dedicate your life to politics and voting. Hows that for good, common sense, experienced advice?

About Not Apathetic

NotApathetic was built so that people who are planning not to vote in the UK General Election on May 5th can tell the world why. We won't try to persuade you that voting is a good or a bad idea - we're just here to record and share your explanations. Whether ideological, practical or other, any reason will do.

A lot of users would like us to mention that if you spoil your ballot paper, it will be counted. So if you want to record a vote for "none of the above", you can.
