Not Apathetic

Tell the world why you're not voting - don't let your silence go unheard

They're not voting because...

I cannot trust Blair - EVERYONE with...

I cannot trust Blair - EVERYONE with 2 brain cells to rub together knows he's lied to us more than once. QED. HOW CAN ANYBODY VOTE LABOUR? I don't want to appear flippant or sarcastic but i really don't understand. Is it a case of "well yes he lied but he won't lie anymore"? or "ok he lied but i'm NEVER voting tory or lib-dem" (in which case that's your objectivity out of the window...). How can anyone support him OR the 'others'? I don't understand the concept of supporting someone who either lies or doesn't represent you so i CANNOT vote for any of the parties available. Wish i could.....

Mitch replies: People can vote for whoever they want. It's called Democracy. Ok so you list Iraq and Blair as your reasons for not voting labour, but they've also done a lot of good in power. So he lied. Show me a Prime Minister who hasn't and i'll eat my hat.

Andy replies: Then vote for 'em Mitch. Really there's no need at all to be flippant : i know what democracy is but if your sole argument is "well all the rest do it" thats primary-school level. If people continue to vote for liars and reckon it's OK then you're encouraging the rest.

The difference between science and opinion is measurement : more and more people are not voting - QED. "So he lied" - go tell that to the people who've lost relatives (i think you know that you wouldn't do that....)

About Not Apathetic

NotApathetic was built so that people who are planning not to vote in the UK General Election on May 5th can tell the world why. We won't try to persuade you that voting is a good or a bad idea - we're just here to record and share your explanations. Whether ideological, practical or other, any reason will do.

A lot of users would like us to mention that if you spoil your ballot paper, it will be counted. So if you want to record a vote for "none of the above", you can.
