sane guy replies: Well...

You mostly walk to the polling station, and when you get there you get a piece of paper with a list of all the candidates names.

You put a X by the name you want to win.

It's a bit like doing the lottery
except the odds are worse and you can only put one X instead of 6
Oh and if you choose the winner, unlike in the lottery you still don't really win.
