They're not voting because...
- I'm a socialist, and there is no socialist...
I'm a socialist, and there is no socialist party left in Britain any more.

Max replies: Tom Cochrane says there is a Scottish Socialist Party, but this is a reformist party, formerly Militant who tried to steal the name of The Socialist Party of Great Britain who are standing a candidate in Vauxhall in London.

See their manifesto at http://www.worldsocialism.org/spgb/candidatesmanifestomay05.html.
If you don't live in Vauxhall, you can still support them in other ways. -
Julie replies: Vote Lib Dem - they may be a long long way from socialism but they're the only major party who advocate proportional representation. Without PR even if there was a socialist alternative in England they wouldn't get a look in.

Max replies: Julie, you are wrong. When a majority want socialism, it can only be established by an overwhelming majority--proportional representation will thus be an irrelevance. Without that overwhelming majority to support its running socialism could not function.

Socialism meaning the common ownership of the means of production and distribution (not including "exchange" as the Labour Party would have it--or had it--if things are held in common, there would be no use for banks)by and in the interest of the whole community, with production for need, not profit.
Also, socialism could not be established just in England (do you mean Britain?), but on a worldwide basis.
To establish socialism will involve much more than putting your cross against a socialist candidate's name and waiting for socialism to be established on your behalf--it would involve your total commitment to that new system of social equality.
