They're not voting because...
- Because I'm a tax exile
I live in Monaco to avoid paying any tax whatsover to support the schools and hospitals in the UK which brought me into this world. I consequently feel such profound guilt that I have decided it would be wrong of me to vote at the next general election.

James Nixon replies: Nah.
Good on the man/lady for being so very forthright and honest.
If I had the opportunity, I'd be off like a bloody shot. And I feel so guilty for even thinking it, I'm actually quite happy to pay an extra 1p a year for these people to enjoy themselves in Monte Carlo.
Anyway, relax, your parents probably paid enough taxes for the lot of you to fund your education.
Your not wearing out our roads out and causing me a longer wait at the doctors so why should you pay any tax?

Peter replies: Why should you pay over the odds? Guessing you earn quite a lot, which means you fall into higher rates (for some reason, thought the whole piont of a percentage basis for income tax was to make it representative of your income, yet they have different rates too?) and that you also don't exactly place much strain on the public servies.
And what sort of input do you make to the economy in general, employing people, spending money, running firms that pay corperate tax etc? If anything the tax rate sould be lower for the wealthy.

Mojo replies: Shame on you, there are plenty of legitimate ways to pay an acceptable amount of taxation to contribute to the country and still hold onto you hoards of wealth. I don't know how you can sleep at night!
